Dear Devorah
We were sorry to learn of the petira of your father. May Hashem comfort you and your family.
Many years have passed since I last saw your father, but the image remains ever so clearly.
There he is standing behind the counter in his cheese store on the Lower East Side, kind, gentle and soft spoken. I always had a good feeling when I entered the shop. He treated each customer (there usually was a line of people, mouths watering) nicely and patiently. His long white beard framing a kind face. I keep the memory. It makes me smile.
We’re still in FL for a few more days before returning to NYC. Take care. Best regards and words of solace from Joan.
